The trilogy got started in 1994 as a series of short stories. Charles E. Glover convinced him that it was a great story worth telling. They worked closely together to produce a book that was called Couch Wars: The Future Never Dies. Chuck contributed to the material, edited and became Bob’s agent.
The book was, to Bob’s reluctance, expanded to become a trilogy as interest grew for the story. Some versions of the trilogy were published in limited quantities in later years for special groups. The first two books of the trilogy, Death of a Sanitation Engineer and The Future Never Dies, were initially released and sold exclusively at the Glazed Over Donut Company in Boise, Idaho for several years where it saw moderate success.
The story was adapted into a screenplay re-titled Brewing Wars. Charles passed away in the middle of negotiating the movie rights with several production companies. As a result, the project fell apart and the entire series was shelved.
Bob, not satisfied with the the extra material that was added to turn it into a trilogy, never allowed the release of the 3rd book titled Metal Fatigue.
Only the first book, Death of a Sanitation Engineer, is still available as an eBook. It was released by the author at the request of fans and with little media attention as Bob was busy doing IT projects and promoting his political career.
